Stop moaning and get on with it. It isn't over yet. Don't be a moron, hop on your bike and ride somewhere, ride anywhere then when you get back to work on Monday you can brag about the eco - friendly activities you did. Seriously you want something to do that isn't a free concert but just good old fashion fun like you had when you where a kid.

Friday night- go to Coney Island.
Stop that... don't roll your eyes at me. Go.
There are free fireworks every Friday night, stop by one of the authentic Mexican food establishments get yourself some tamales or a couple of taco's get to the beach (bring a blanket & some beer in a bag) and sit with all the average Joe's and their kids Jill & Jack and enjoy a really great summer tradition that is ending. Then get an ice cream cone and if your lucky you will spot the oldest camera man I know snapping pics with his old school 4 x 5. $10 gets you a color pic of a good time, and your supporting an old timer.
Saturday-
Get on your freakin' bike already.
Ride along the Brooklyn Promenade and then over to the Brooklyn Bridge via
Old Fulton St. Ride through Dumbo and walk your bike through the two parks.
Now enjoy the Olafur Eliasson Waterfalls.
Or.... Ride your bike towards the Ikea in Red Hook- go in if you want.
Or just cruise around the hood, and make a play for Columbia St. Its newly paved and makes
for perfect riding, with water on both sides of you, you get an unmistakable summer breeze.
Stop by Baked (359 Van Brunt St.) for some tasty treats and maybe something savory. Their quiche is fantastic, but I prefer anything chocolate.
Sunday-
Walk or ride to the Red Hook Soccer park. If you are lazy you can catch a bus. Lazy bum.
Soccer Taco's are a late summer staple food as far as I am concerned. There was plenty of
frustration as they considered closing them down, but they are back and yummier than ever.
Go to the Red Hook ball fields in Brooklyn for some of the best latin street food this side of Texas. Good eats real cheap!
