Doin it and Doin it and Doin it well.

So last week was pretty fantastic, although the weather was insane- the shows where a good time and if timed right you didn't sweat your ass off to bad- but you may have partied your ass off.  The weekend was a total dance party between Siren and Santogold.  If you missed these shows then you missed out.  This week is rather tame, I might have to find a proper party to go to.  

Wednesday July 23  

Mart'nalia

Brazillian Samba, mixed with hip-hop, 

electronica and rock.  Aside from the intoxication

of Mart'nalia and the absolute need to move to her music 

the venue is always fun in the summer.  If you have yet

to venture out to Lincoln Center for their MidSummer

Night Swing you are missing out on pure summer fun.  

Live music and people dancing outside, its like a mini-

vacation.

Two amazing hip hop turntablists from the West coast come together

to preform their mixtape "The Hard Sell".  Cut Chemist, formally from 

Jurassic 5 and DJ Shadow who brought us the amazing score to "Dark 

Days", which as far as I am concerned is mandatory viewing (along with 

Scratch). Will turn the pool into a sweaty mix drink (Caparenia's anyone?) 

with their concoction of hip, hop, jazz, funk bossa nova and ambient sounds.

Kulture Kalendar

Welcome to Nicole's Kulture Kalendar.  I have taken it upon my self to organize some fun stuff for the summer.  Most summers go by and you wonder..."what did I do, how is it already September?".  We have so many options of what to do, and so many places to find that information that we get overloaded and forget what we wanted to do, or simply are too exhausted to look up what there is to do.  We will not let that happen this summer.  These are some things to do over the next few day's.  Hope to see you at some of them!
